March is the warm spring season in Yunnan and it is a good season for appreciating flowers blossoms as well as for sightseeing.

Yunnan has a complex topography and diverse climate in different places. This is a traditional event with a history of more than a thousand years. It was also called Guanyin market or Guanyin meeting in ancient times. Starting from the ancient city of Dali, you can drive slowly along the west side of the lake to the ancient town of Xizhou. Xizhou was once a gathering place for the rich people of Dali. The Yan Family Courtyard in the ancient town displays local historical relics, suitable for visitors who like humanities.

Continue your tour along the beautiful Huanhai Highway to Shuanglang. Firstly, you should go to the top of the mountain to take a panoramic photo and then you can stroll into the ancient town to visit Nanzhao Style Island.

At about four in the afternoon, you will move forward to Haidong Town, one of the best photography spots in Erhai Lake. Finally, while driving along Binhai Avenue in Xiaguan area, you can enjoy the beautiful sunset of Erhai Lake in the evening.

The Chongsheng Temple And The Three-Pagoda

Another famous spot you must visit when travelling in Dali is the Chongsheng Temple and the Three-Pagoda. Chongsheng Temple is a royal temple during the Dali Kingdom period and the first and largest ancient temple in Dali history. Chongsheng Temple is famous for its three towers, also known as the “Three Pagodas of Dali”. It is one of the most famous pagodas in China. The three ancient pagodas are the landmarks of Dali, a testimony to the prevalence of Buddhism in Dali, and one of the scenic spots of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake.
